Wooden Computer/Small Desk With Shelf And Storage Made With Pallet Wood
Size: W56cm x D44cm x H89cm (including shelf) 79cm (excluding shelf) approx.
Computer desk with storage and shelf made with pallet wood.
I made this desk using wood from a pallet and reclaimed timber for the top.
After I dismantled the pallet and cut the wood to size I sanded it down extensively.
I put the desk together using glue and screws, which I then covered with wooden nails.
I gave the desk a coat of dark walnut stain and then 2 coats of bees wax to protect it.
The top is hinged with antique iron unequal butterfly hinges.
I also painted the inside and the bottom of the desk a sage vintage colour to give it a fresher and cleaner look.
The desk shows several signs of wear and tear having being made with reclaimed timber, as well as a few nails here and there from the original pallet, but I think that this only adds to its character.
I think that this desk, because of its size, would be perfect for small spaces (such as alcoves), giving the room not only a touch of rustic decor but also plenty of handy storage.
