Vintage Journals - A new journey!
This is a new adventure for me. I always wanted to work with paper and my love for any stationery item is insatiable! I don't know how many times I bought diaries, booklets, notebooks...you name it, just because I loved the look of them and I love writing.
Making my own personal vintage-looking diary has been something I have been longing to do for a very long time and I studied many articles and tried many techniques, failing and trying again before I finally succeeded in creating what I was looking for.
The main obstacle for me was how to bind the book. I had a clear idea of what I wanted it to look like...but how to put it together without risking it falling apart as soon as I opened it?
Then, the magic happened. I found a video on YouTube of a lady who used the envelopes and cards technique. It's so simple and so straight forward I cannot believe I didn't think of it!
This is the video...
I watched it several times and tried a few variations and eventually I succeeded with achieving my personal modification of this clever technique.
I applied my own ideas about the cover and tried on different size envelopes and cards.
Now I am addicted! I love making these journals...and worst come to the worst...if they don't sell I'll have all my Christmas presents ready by December!
