Side Table Made With Upcycled Vintage Step Ladder
Side/end table made with upcycled vintage step ladder and pallet wood.
Size:W38cm (top) 46cm (bottom) x D23cm (top) 49cm (bottom) H76.
I made this side table upcycling a vintage step ladder, which was beyond repair. I used the steps as the front of the table while I upcycled the other side of the ladder to build the frame for the top shelf.
After I cut the ladder to size I sanded it down extensively to get rid of the many splashes of paint it was covered with and to bring it back to the original wood.
I then created the top shelf using pallet wood and put the table together using glue and screws, which I covered with wooden nails.
I gave the table one coat of dark brown stain to revive the colour of the timber and several coats of bees wax to protect it.
There are 2 small brackets at the top of the ladder to fix it to the wall.
I think this side table can have many different applications. It can easily be used in any room adding a touch of quirkiness as well as providing with some useful shelf storage.
