Kitchen Table Island Breakfast Bar Made With Pallet Wood
Size: W80cm x D30cm (closed) 46cm (open) x H82 approx.
Rustic kitchen island breakfast bar made with pallet wood.
I made this kitchen island using wood from 1 pallet.
After I cut the timber to size I sanded it down extensively to give it a smooth finish.
I then put it together using glue and screws, which I covered with wooden nails.
I gave the island 2 coats of walnut handmade stain and then gave it all 2 coats of bees wax to protect it.
Part of the table can be folded and it's kept open by 2 brackets hinged to the side with rusted handmade arrow hinges.
There is also a shelf at the bottom for storage.
Because of its width this breakfast bar can easily accommodate 2 stools.
The island shows many signs of wear and tear (since the wood is from a pallet) and the occasional rusted nail here and there but I think this only adds to its character.
I think that because of its size this kitchen island can easily be used in small kitchens either as an island or against a wall creating additional worktop space and occasional table.
