Kitchen Island Breakfast Bar Made With Reclaimed Timber And Pallet Wood

Size: W75cm x D48cm x H82 approx.
Weight: 17Kgs

Rustic kitchen island breakfast bar made with reclaimed timber and pallet wood with hooks.

I made this kitchen island using entirely reclaimed timber and wood from 1 pallet.

After I cut the timber to size I sanded it down extensively to give it a smooth finish.

I then put it together using glue and screws, which I covered with wooden nails.

I gave the island 2 coats of medium brown wax and then gave it all 2 coats of bees wax to protect it.

The island has a shelf and on one side 2 cast iron hooks.

Because of its width this breakfast bar can easily accommodate 2 stools.

The extra section at the front is kept open by 2 small brackets attached to the island.

The island shows many signs of wear and tear (since the wood is all reclaimed) and the occasional rusted nail here and there from the original pallet but I think this only adds to its character.

I think that because of its size this kitchen island can easily be used in small kitchens either as an island or against a wall creating additional worktop space and occasional table.
